Malcom Wightman

Profile Summary
Malcom was born and bred in Cunnamulla Queensland, traditionally known as Kooma, and is a descendant of the inland Badjudi tribe. He moved to Toowoomba when he was 15. Since then he has been working on his artistic skills and techniques.
Malcom, also known as Balky has been painting traditional and contemporary indigenous art since he was a young child, spending time with his elders and learning these skills from them.
Malcom’s paintings manifest native Australian animals in their natural habitats. He also likes to include hidden images in his paintings, which he calls camouflage technique – you may need to look closer to spot them.
